Streetlight Pilot Survey Available The City ...

Streetlight Pilot Survey Available The City of Medford is in the process of upgrading all 4,500 cobrahead City owned streetlights to LED. The upgrade will save money, reduce our environmental impact by reducing energy usage, and cut maintenance costs. The City has received grants from the DOER and MAPC to help offset the costs of the upgrade, and will receive incentives from National Grid as well. In upgrading, we want the community’s input so that we select the proper lighting. Sample lights have been installed in West Medford on High Street, Playstead Road, Warren Street and Irving Street. Please provide your feedback on the lights, their intensities, color temperatures, and styles. Please take a few minutes to look at the lights, after dark, and fill out the survey here: http://bit.ly/MedfordLights (there is a map to show you where the sample LED lights are installed) Questions can be directed to Alicia Hunt, Director of Energy & Environment, 781-393-2137, ahunt@medford-ma.gov.

City of Medford Street Lights Survey
The City of Medford will be converting all city-owned streetlights to LED lights. This conversion will reduce our energy and maintenance costs. Additionally, it will provide consistent lighting throughout town. As members of the community, we are seeking your input. A map has been provided which identifies 18 LED fixtures from three manufacturers.

School Superintendent Search Process Mayor S...

School Superintendent Search Process Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke convened the Medford School Committee to begin the official process of searching for the next Superintendent for the Medford Public Schools. After appropriate discussion, it was decided that the search will seek individuals both from within as well as outside the district, in order to provide multiple options for the selection of a new Superintendent. The School Committee, at the Mayor’s direction, has produced a brochure, a citywide survey for community input, and an application form for potential candidates. Mayor Burke will be appointing an (11) member search committee, who will work with the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and the Medford School Committee, to screen eligible applicants. Their goal is to provide a group of highly qualified finalists for public interviews. “The Superintendent search will be an open and transparent process. We urge the community to get involved and participate. We want to know what you would like to see in our next Superintendent of Schools. The search committee will conduct a thorough screening to identify candidates both inside, as well as, outside the school district. The Search Committee will represent a cross section of the schools and the community. It is my intent that a diversified group of professional educators, parents, community leaders, and citizens will apply for appointment to this committee,” said Mayor Burke. Interested parties should complete the below application and return it to Mayor Burke’s Office, no later than January 29, 2018, via email to Mayor@medford-ma.gov or via mail to Mayor Stephanie Burke, Room 202, City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford, MA 02155. Applications will also be available at the Mayor’s Office, the Medford Public Library and the Parent Information Center at Medford High School.
